What kind of finish has a Stratocaster fingerboard?

What kind of finish is used for the maple fingerboard on a Standard
Mexican Stratocaster?I am wondering because the maple has a lighter
color than the rosewood and I'm afraid that the signs of use on the
maple will be more visible than the rosewood.
